Photography as a Passionate Hobby

Beautiful pictures move all of us...

That is what they did to me. They moved me so much that I just had to know what made them possible. Many a times you might have seen a scene which you wished you were able to capture, just the way it was, it may have been a slihoutte, or it may have been a highlighted face … Well it is possible to capture what you see just with a wee bit of concentration and a little knowledge of your camera.

It is very important to know what your camera sees. Is it what you are seeing? For example, if your camera is on the auto mode, it will probably give off the flashlight by default. The flash, though necessary for well-lit sharp pictures also tend to flatten images and cast shadows in the background. So the slihoutte, which you wished to capture is no more silhoutte but well lit!

Now a days best digital camera offer ISO readings up to 800 or more; with these you have the benefit of shooting without flash, so one is able to capture the scene in it’s totality, giving the foreground and the background equal importance. This is just one of the many features available to us today, each camera has its own USP which should be studied and made good use of, while taking pictures.

So the trick is really to start knowing your camera, and what the different modes deliver. But ultimately you must know what you want to capture in your image, and so just keep clicking and try, try till you have your image. This is much easier now with our digital backs here we are able to checkout our images as soon as we have taken them, so keep trying … and good luck!
