Session 1 (09 Feb):

Introduction to the Course: The Religious Beliefs, Images, Icons and philosophies of Ancient times.
Session 2 (16 Feb):

Religious Beliefs: Images, Icons and philosophies of Medieval and Modern times.

Session 3 (23 Feb):

Social Structure and Institutions: Individual, family, village, region, universality, hierarchies, governance and duties of the State.

Session 4 (01 Mar):

Education system, literature, dance, music, painting and aesthetics theories.

Session 5 (08 Mar):

Temples, mosques, churches, and palaces. Entertainment, cuisine, social discourse and travel.

Session 6 (15 Mar):

Anthropological and linguistic diversity, environment planning and water harvesting

Session 7 (22 Mar):

Local and foreign cultural diversity and assimilation, business and migration.

Session 8 (29 Mar):

Marriage, dowry, life and status of the Indian women.

Session 9 (05 Apr):

Clash of Tradition and Modernity: The problems of technology and sustainable development.

Session 10 (12 Apr):

Democracy and Globalization in contemporary India.
